DEKRA Academy organizes project workshop in Budapest

After Krakow, Vienna and Berlin, a “HealthCare Europe” workshop was held successfully in Budapest on 23 February.

DEKRA Academy project workshop in Budapest, © DEKRAThe HealthCareEurope (HCEU) project got under way in September 2015 and will end in August 2018. It is part of a transdisciplinary partnership led by the DEKRA Academy. HCEU focuses on the regional imbalance of healthcare professionals in Europe. In order to solve this problem, it is essential that the mobility of staff willing to work abroad is unrestricted. This is conditional on their certificates and qualifications being recognized outside their own country. This is precisely the challenge that HCEU is now tackling.

The project consortium is developing various tools and instruments with the aim of supporting and simplifying the process of recognizing foreign nursing and geriatric care qualifications inside and outside Europe. This applies not only to formal qualifications acquired abroad, but also to the results of informal and non-formal learning. This type of learning includes practical experience gained in the past.

The workshop in Budapest was organized by the DEKRA Academy in Hungary. This included a presentation of the basic idea behind HCEU followed by a platform for informal discussion with participants.
